Airtel launches 4G data services in Chandigarh

Finding a business opportunity in the explosion of data sharing, Bharti Airtel, along with Apple, has rolled out 4G data services on mobiles in the cities of Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula under the Punjab circle. Just for reference, Bangalore already has this high speed data connectivity running already.

Internet has become a necessity for business efficiency, communication, mobility and to simply keep up with the pace of life. Faster internet on the move through phones is perhaps the key demand that most home and office users express nowadays when questioned on the topic.

Bharti has been offering the 4G service through its dongles and wi-fi router since last year, but now it has upgraded its technology to allow the same speeds on the phone as well.

The 4G internet service, for now, can be used on four phones - Apple iPhone 5S (models A1530 & A1518) and 5C (models A1529 & A1516) and Xolo LT 900 and LG G2 (model D802T).Sensing a business opportunity here and considering the relatively educated and elite profile of residents of the tricity with what the company claimed was a ‘data-hungry now’ young population, Bharti Airtel has launched, along with Apple and other phone makers, the facility to log into the internet highway, on your mobiles, at 4G speeds.

Well!, do you really know what 4G is?
4G is a speed standard of sorts and to qualify for this, the speeds of all wireless data transfer s has to be least 100 Mb per second. Only two technologies have made it to the list: LTE-Advanced, an emerging version of LTE technology, and Wireless MAN-Advanced, the next version of WiMax, also called WiMax 2

It is the next speed level, after 3G. On practical grounds, one should expect the download speed to be around 7.5MBPS and the upload speed to be around 9.5MBPS.
