Even Gartner Finds the India PC Market declining 13% in Q2 2015

People, Gartner has published a report yesterday about a 13% drop in the Indian PC market, in Q2 Y15. The PC Market for this report is a combination of "desk-based" and "mobile PC" markets.

Here are a few Notable Pointers:

• Desk-based and mobile PC market in India totalled nearly 2.2 million units in the second quarter of 2015, a 13 percent decrease over the second quarter of 2014
• Consumers accounted for 48 percent of total PC sales
• The decline is mostly due to the absence of any substantial demand from enterprises this quarter, re-emphasizing the fact that sentiments were not very positive
• The enterprise segment might witness some growth going forward due to government and education projects
• White boxes (including parallel imports), which accounted for 44 percent of the overall desktop market, declined 7 percent
