So you think you can buy the Best of Samsung - Galaxy Note
3?? Think again... it doesn't come cheap. Launched in September 2013 for as
high as INR 49,900/-, Samsung's new flagship device is up for some speculation
in specs and availability. It is currently available online for about INR
44,900/- for the 1.9 GHz variant. Here are the issues:
#1: Samsung promotes the 2.3 GHz Qualcomm variant in India
but is selling the 1.9 GHz Exonys version
This might not be a significant change for those who are
unaware of this much power. However, if you look closer, and you Should at this
price, you will see the 2.3 GHz Qualcomm version:
#2: Samsung has been found trying to boost the benchmark
scores of the Galaxy Note 3
Technology website ArsTechnica in its tests found that the
Galaxy Note 3 (quad-core Snapdragon 800 variant) worked at 2.3GHz clock speed
while running the GeekBench 3 benchmark test. However, the ArsTechnica reviewers observed that while
running non-benchmark apps or benchmark apps, three of the four CPU cores went
to sleep. The only running core operated at 300MHz speed, as compared to 2.3GHz
(2300MHz) during benchmark tests. The same was also observed when GeekBench 3
was renamed and run on the same handset.
#3: There are speculations that the 2.3GHz version will soon
enter Indian Market
People can see the Qualcomm version being better and for
half a lakh of rupees, it could just be worth the wait.
#4: For all the Radio Lovers, Samsung misses this feature
out of its Flagship device :(
I am as excited as the others to own this hyper active
device which not only looks humongous but also is capable of behaving like a
beast, when need calls. Reading reviews and negative comments on this are
having their least effect on me. Soon to buy.
